How Long Does a Bathroom Renovation Take?
22 April 20264 min readTimelines
A typical bathroom renovation takes around one to two weeks on site, though wet rooms and reconfigurations can take longer. Here’s how the time is usually spent — and what can affect it.
A typical timeline
The first day or two is strip-out: removing the old suite, tiles and anything being replaced. Next comes first fix — any new plumbing and electrics chased into the walls and floor.
Tiling and waterproofing follow, then second fix (fitting the suite, taps, shower and lights), and finally sealing, finishing and a clean-down. Allowing tiles and adhesive to set properly is part of getting a lasting finish.
What affects the timeline
Moving the layout (relocating the toilet or shower), creating a fully tanked wet room, or choosing intricate tiling all add time. So can unforeseen issues uncovered once the old bathroom is removed — older properties sometimes hide surprises.
A clear plan and decisions made up front (tiles, suite and fittings chosen before we start) keep things moving smoothly.
Minimising disruption
If it’s your only bathroom, we plan the work to keep it usable for as long as possible and let you know what to expect day by day. Good preparation is the difference between a smooth project and a stressful one.
